The school follows a student-centred multi-modal approach to communication. We would like to welcome you to become part of our vibrant and innovative learning community. You will have the opportunity to work in a happy and harmonious school which promotes the highest standards and is at the forefront of special education. We are an inclusive school where every student and member of staff is valued highly. Students are enthusiastic and friendly and enjoy a varied academic and vocational curriculum.
There is a mandatory requirement for all teachers working at Oak Lodge to have a “Teacher of the Deaf” qualification or be prepared to study for this within three years of taking up the post.
We would like all our staff to be able to communicate by signing. If you do not currently have this skill at BSL Level 2, then the school will assist with training.
Please call or email the school if you would like to arrange a visit.
